On the 8th and 9th February 2011, the SMART+ partners met in Zaragoza (Spain) for an important decision. The goal was to select the sub-projects that are going to be funded within the mini-programme for two years.

The call for proposals, which was open from October 15th to December 20th 2010, was followed by 33 institutions from the six European partner regions. In total they submitted twelve applications that were evaluated by independent experts from each of the partner regions on the basis of uniform criteria.

Seven sub-projects were approved for funding. More detailed information can be found under “subprojects”.

Besides the selection of sub-projects, the SMART+ partners also worked on the planning and preparation of the next steps, including the kick-off event for the sub-projects (more information here).

In addition, the partners had the chance to visit WALQA Technology Park which provides an outstanding regional example for innovation support in small businesses.

A documentation of the partner meeting is available for download here.
