SMART TOURISM: First Partner Meeting in Borna

The association for planning and development for the Witznitz lakes is now official a member of the large SMART+ family. As a kick-off event for this new partnership, the first meeting with the partners from Bulgaria and Greece took place on 04.04.2012 in the city of Borna.

The association for planning and development for the Witznitz lakes is now official a member of the large SMART+ family. On 01.03.2012, the association of the municipalities Borna, Böhlen, Espenhain, Rötha and Lobstädt has assumed an important task as the new German partner in the sub-project SMART TOURISM.

The partner regions of SMART TOURISM have the common goal to exchange experience in order to strengthen the touristic attractiveness of their target areas. To that aim, the regional cooperation of SMEs along the entire touristic value chain shall be increased and innovative mobile applications and destination management systems shall be developed.
 
As a kick-off event for this new partnership, the first meeting with the partners from Bulgaria and Greece took place on 04.04.2012 in the city of Borna.
After a greeting by the mayor of Borna, Mrs. Simone Luedtke, the four international project partners proceeded to discuss the administrative framework and jointly elaborated the details of the future project implementation.
 
On 05.04.2012, a joint study visit of the Hainer lake took place, which allowed the project partners to get to know a part of the target region first hand.

SMART + was approved by the Monitoring Committee INTERREG IVC on November 5th, 2009.
